Grades 3–5 Online Tutoring: Reading & Writing

Grades 3–5 online tutoring from TeachWell helps students develop the reading, writing, and test-taking skills needed for greater confidence and success in school. This 12-week live online program combines explicit teacher-led instruction, differentiated practice, and individualized feedback in a supportive small-group setting. Students receive instruction in reading comprehension, fluency, vocabulary, grammar, written responses, paragraph development, and evidence-based writing. Lessons use both literary and informational texts and help students identify main ideas, summarize information, make inferences, cite text evidence, organize ideas, revise writing, and communicate clearly. The program also includes NYS ELA test preparation. Students practice multiple-choice questions, short constructed responses, extended responses, close reading, time management, and effective test-taking strategies. TeachWell’s instruction reinforces important grade-level standards and complements the skills students encounter in school. Each student begins with a reading and writing assessment. Results are used to establish individualized learning goals, select appropriate materials, and identify areas requiring additional support. Lessons include direct instruction, guided practice, discussion, digital activities, and independent application. Students receive two live one-hour online sessions each week in a group of no more than five students. Parents receive monthly progress updates describing skills taught, student growth, current learning needs, and recommended next steps.
